Ways and Means
We have never stopped looking for effective ways of reaching people
with the Gospel. In February, as part of the programme, we started
holding Friday evening open-air meetings outside the Hippodrome theatre
in central Bristol, using ultraviolet light and paints.
In the evenings, we have found that people are generally more open
to discuss philosophical and religious ideas than during the day.
We also experience a better class of heckling.
Crowds number anywhere from zero to thirty. The open-airs tend to
work much better when we are able to take a larger team - one of the
best nights was when we had a team of ten. However, it has been an
excellent time to try out new ideas for messages, and the opportunity
to get instant feedback from the audience, although daunting at first,
is not something than you often get during the hours of daylight.
