OACI Update 1999

Europe Now: Snowball is Rolling!

Puppets have feelings too! This September saw the start of Project Snowball, Europe Now's training programme for evangelists. Led by Rob Davis, Paul Hazelden and Mark Howe, the programme includes in-depth training in a wide range of evangelistic techniques and a solid grounding in theology. It includes teaching from a number of other OAC staff and outside speakers, drawn from across Europe.

The programme is based in Bristol, England, working closely with a number of local churches and also with Korky and Anni Davey, who started OAC West Country some 25 years ago.

Practicing one of the musical numbers For this, the pilot programme, there are four students - Stefan and Judith from Austria, and two sisters, Katka and Elena from Slovakia. They are already active in ministry in their own countries, and look forward to putting what they have learned into practice when they return home.

Elena and Rob discuss the programme The first session included teaching and training in children's work, and ended with a puppet seminar, an intensive one-week programme led by Rob Davis which covered a wide range of techniques and skills, culminating in a one-hour puppet show put together during the week. It was also a chance to learn some important lessons about working together as a team.
