Freedom to preach the gospel in Paraguay
Located between Brazil, Bolivia and Argentina, this landlocked nation
of 5 million recently threw out a military dictatorship and became
a democracy. Religious freedom was declared for all in 1992. Two years
later, OAC Paraguay was officially signed into existence by the President
himself.
Our national evangelists freely preach in plazas, fields, public schools
and military bases. Driving through roads deep in mud in their four-wheel
drive vehicle, our evangelists also take the gospel to Indian tribes.
The Indians stare in amazement at a film showing Jesus speaking Guarani,
and at an illustrated message using fluorescent paint and a "black
light". After one campaign, 60 new believers came to church the following
Sunday.
A harvest of souls is being reaped in Paraguay, and our evangelists
welcome the help of mission teams from abroad.
