YOUR YEAR IN PROVENCE?

Aeroplane Preaching

by Mark Howe

The work of MEPA in the Vaucluse began seven years ago, when Mark and Susan Howe moved to Lauris. Today, there are five full-time members of the team, working with a range of churches in surrounding towns and cities.

There are many opportunities for evangelism in the area. In this edition of Borderlines you can read about questionnaire work and children's clubs. MEPA also runs open-airs, market stalls, puppet shows‡

If you are thinking of taking a 'year out', you could consider the possibility of joining the MEPA team. A working knowledge of French would be useful, but, in any case, you would have plenty of opportunities to improve your linguistic skills. Living in a different culture can be a demanding experience, but also a chance to learn more about yourself and the world around you.

The programme will include training in a range of evangelistic techniques, as well as the opportunity to put them into practice. If you have always wondered what it would be like to be a missionary, this would be one good way to find out!

If you would like to meet the team before making a decision, why not sign up for Festival Outreach? After two weeks in Avignon, you would have a much better idea of the type of work in which MEPA is involved.
