FESTIVAL OUTREACH 2000
Avignon is the county town of the Vaucluse, in the heart of Provence.
Its population is currently about 180,000 including its extensive
suburbs.
Over the last five decades, the Avignon Festival has become one of the major cultural attractions in Europe, drawing over 120,000 visitors each summer. In addition to the official programme of dance, drama and music, there are over 350 fringe events, not counting the street acts.
Our goal is to present the Gospel on the streets of
Avignon during the festival. Our presentations attract thousands of
people - locals as well as tourists from all over the world - many of whom
stop to talk with the team afterwards.
The programmes will be prepared by the team, with the help of our evangelists. We plan to try some new means of presentation, including shadow puppetry.

The Cost
600 French Francs per week, plus £15 non-refundable deposit (£25 for late bookings).
£50 booking fee for groups.
The Small Print
All team members must be at least 18 years old on the 12th July 2000. The nature of the accommodation and the programme may not suit those who like peace and privacy!
The team will be drawn from several countries. Translation will be arranged where necessary.
